My job allows me to spend large amounts of time traveling from client to client and listening to the radio. Which is a plus, because it keeps me current and informed on the news as well as politics. But it is becoming increasingly difficult to discern truth from spin. My political affiliation if Republican, I voted for Bush and will more the likely vote for him again although he is not without some definite weaknesses. First and foremost, the man is not very articulate. The mainstream press has picked up on this long since past, and has bashed him tirelessly. Truth be told, you can't blame them. He is a terrible public speaker, and often times appear as a dunce with his short answers and Southern appeal. Yes, he may be the first MBA president, but it is painful to listen to him and god forbid he has to answer a question not rehearsed in advance. I remember a reporter asking Bush about what he would have done differently if he could change any aspect of his 9/11 response. When all of his stammering and squirming was complete, he ending up looking like a person who could not admit his mistakes. Or person who does not make mistake. Another issue that bothers me with Bush is all of the vacations at the ranch. Yes, he does do presidential work there. Many times, Rumsfeld, Franks, Rice and Powell have driven there to talk with the President, it is just that it looks bad to the public. Too much time away from the White House if you ask me. So the option would be to elect Kerry and let him work his magic, but what exactly do Kerry and Edwards have in store for us? Kerry's speech at the DNC did not inspire me, infact I feel asleep 30 minute in. ONe point that was reiterated was his tour in Vietnam. Great, I respect him for that and wish all presidents served their country in that manor. But it seems like that is his sole hope for acquiring the role of Commander in Chief. And the band of brothers, very impressive until you actually hear all of the terrible things they have to relay about Kerry. There is more, but the last aspect to cover is Kerry wife, the sole heir to the Heinz fortune. I cannot muster up a more frightening image then having Theresa as the first lady. There is no comparison between her and Laura Bush. Theresa comes across as a controlling, feminist bitch. How rude of her to talk to the press as she did during the DNC. Some applauded her, but I think it was rude and unprofessional. The attitude she displays makes one believe that she herself is running for president. Yes, voting for Bush will ultimately be my final answer, but I long for a better candidate. One that I can whole-heartedly support because I believe he can make a difference to this country!

Excellent post. I hope you find a candidate worth your vote. You may want to check out the greens and the libertarians while you're searching, though
